Things You Don't See Every Day #17

Two pigeons got on Caltrain last Friday at the 4th & King Station. They were walking along the platform and then one stopped in front of an open train door. He cocked his head as if scoping out the opening, then, with a gentle flap, was in the train. He then wandered down the aisle into the passenger compartment. His companion, not wanting to be left out of the loop, swooped in and joined him.

I was in a different train (waiting for it to leave the station) watching... and laughing... and wishing I had a video camera.

And then.. FWOOSH! They both came flying out, followed by a Conductor.

You see, Caltrain is a Proof-of-Payment System. The pigeons had no fingers nor pockets in which to hold their tickets and so, they got escorted off the train.

Ah well.
